LBI is da bomb! It is so releaxing and quite down there. You could rent jet skies to bananna boats(<-- witch are really fun) you can have a great time. The beach is clean and it is a lot of fun. There is great places to eat, shop, and theres' even a nightclub. (There is a teen night for teenagers) This is my 12th year going down there and I am only 14. It has been a great vacation spot. We meet our friends my NY down there, who have kids about the same age as my and my brother, and we have a great time with them also. At night on the beach it is a lot of fun. Long Beach Island is one of the best beachs in NJ. Due to Having to sell the family home because of difficulties within the family, I miss LBI and all it has to offer. Not only do I miss it but my friends missit as well. It is one of the only places along the jersey shore you can still enjoy your self and just be at peace with the waters that surround you. Within the next few years I hope to purchase another home on the island. I would love to have my children learn all about LBI and enjoy it as much as I have over the years!!

I have made many friends there, and we keep in touch until the summer begins and we resume contact. lbi is such a great place to visit! our family has been going there for 50+ years now. my cousin, bob, used to be a lifeguard near ship bottom! does anyone remember "friends day"? rich and wendy were the hosts, and what a beach party that was! it was a yearly thing and lasted for about 3 days straight! they even made up tshirts for every year (i wonder where mine are???) we are going down there again next month, renting a home on the bay. what a great place to crab, too!! the guys in my family also loves going on fishing excursions with "kalm waters" as their hosts (they just went in june).. a summer without LBI just isnt a summer if you ask me.... We have been coming to LBI since 1970 and we love it. The beaches are always kept clean and nice, the shopping is great. There is entertainment at night for all ages. We especially like Nardis and the Surf City Hotel. Jackie and Paul are great entertainers. We have followed them all over the island. Love your site! It brings back wonderful memories of the summers I spent in Shipbottom when I was a kid. The best years of my life were spent growing up in Brant Beach. I still have sand i collected on the beach and I am now 52 years old. I wish I could just move back there and retire 6 miles at sea.

I just wanted to say that this is a great site! I'm only 19, but I have been going to LBI my whole life. Two years ago my family decided to spend the summer in LBI, I got a job at Ott's Sea Ketch in Beach Haven Crest, and loved it. Last year we returned for the season, and I decided to work at Ott's again. This summer we are making it year number 3, and I'm making it another year at Ott's too! The way I see it, LBI is not just another beach, its my love, and to those that don't know Ott's, its GREAT, it is my second home. The food is out of this world and the people are some of my best friends. I can't wait until Memorial Day so I can get down there again! I hope that all of those that love LBI like I do get to have a great '99 season and don't forget to have fun!

I grew up spending summers at my granparent's summer home in Brant Beach. We ate many meals in the Snack Bar in Beach Haven and my sister and I still order the sweet and sour sauce from the current owners. What fond memories I have of a wonderful island.
