Looking to find out when you are open, for we visit the island quite often during the "off" season, even thought we are there all season.

I was born and raised on the East coast and spent my summers at the shore. I've lived in Chicago for the past 16 years but visit LBI every other year or so.  My husband who is a native Chicagoan had never been to the shore...so when I introduced him to LBI...I was a bit nervous.  I didn't know if it would be "an acquired" taste.  Guess not.  He's in love with it and looks forward to our next lobster dinner on the deck overlooking the ocean!  You've got a slice of heaven in New Jersey and it goes by the name of Long Beach Island!

I grew up on LBI and only live a short 45 miles away now in Toms River, but still couldn't let go of the beautiful Island.  My husband Dave and I purchased a rental property in Surf City/North Beach and spend every spring and fall and many weekends there.  Thanks for the great website...it makes the island even more memorable.  Also, while surfing through here, I noticed Southern Regional has an alumni page...It would be great if more alumni would add their e-mail addresses....It's always nice to hear from an old friend.

I just discovered this site and I am delighted! Most of my family lives in Ocena County, but I have been "in exile" for years. (Currently near Green Bay Wisconsin.) I have to make do with the Door Peninsula, between Green Bay and Lake Michigan. I used to be a contributing editor to Long Beach Island Magazine, which was published in the 1980s by a real estate agent located at 7700 Long Beach Blvd. in Harvey Cedars. I wrote four or five articles about LBI that were published before the mag went out of business. I would enjoy hearing from anyone and everyone from LBI. Maybe I'll retire there someday.

i lived on 11th street in Surf City from 1959 - 1970 (during the summers).  looking for Habel Family, Kathy, Ray, Debbie, The Hall's, and anyone else that remebers and lived on that street.  We all used to play wire ball, and run like fools behind the mosquito truck.

Can't wait for vacation the middle of June to come back to my favorite island resort.  Beach Haven is my get away sanctuary.  Already have my house rented.

I miss going down the shore!

My mother spent her summers at LBI (Beach Haven) in the 1940s and 50s.  I spent summers in Ship Bottom and Surf City in the 50s and 60s.  Those memories are the best of my life!  I live in Colorado now and miss the ocean.  I spent a couple of days on the island in October of 1993...I know it is more crowded than it used to be, but it is still incredible.

I love Long Beach Island.  It is my paradise.  I fell in love with the island and the Barnegat Lighthouse the very first time I was there.  I come back every year.

I loved all the girls in LBI, I am still a studly guy, although I am married now.  Missing nights at the Ketch...

I was the most beautiful girl in high school, I have just had a beatiful baby boy named Ryan.....My husband is cute too.

I grew up on LBI and left 20 years ago to serve in the U.S.Marine Corps. I am stationed at NAS Pensacola, Florida. It is nice to get on the web and visit my old stomping grounds. My mother still lives in Ship Bottom and hope to see the LBI area this holiday season. I've been all around the world these past 20+ years, but there is nothing like good old Long Beach Island. My family has been vacationing on Long Beach Island for generations.  Finally, my parents have bought their "dream home" in Beach Haven, and we are all thrilled to spend many more summers on the beautiful island.

I love LBI.  Starting going when my husband & i got married


we went to Ship Bottom for our honeymoon as his Aunt let us use her house


in Ship Bottom as my husband was in Air Force on leave for 10 days


and was then sent to England.  Since we went down to LBI on our vacations every year.


Haven't been down last couple of years.  Our children grown but we will start again soon.

I've grew up going to LBI ever since I was a baby. My whole family is from that area. When I was younger I use to get shipped off to my grandparents house for the summer, "Those were the best summers!"


Now when I get the chance to go down the shore, I am so happy to see how clean the beach still is and how friendly the people are. Business's may come and go but Long Beach Island is still the way to go!

I couldn't believe how quickly I logged onto this site through Yahoo.  I've been planning a vacation of day trips and almost settled for OC MD,  when out of curiosity I checked out this site.  LBI is where I vacationed every year from an embryo to about 7 years old and I haven't visited for close to 28 years.  If you know where I can get a room for one night during the week, last week in October, that will allow myself and one well mannered cocker spaniel, please e-mail me.  Thanks again for the site.  This is so cool.

Our family is the fourth generation to vacation at LBI.  My grandparents vacationed in the late 40s with my parents who kept the tradition since then with their six children.  Now the six are grown with families of their own, and we all gather at LBI each summer.

I live right outside of LBI, in Barnegat, and I did not even know that this existed, i was playing around, and I found it.  It is not bad so far, but i will be over on the island tonight to enjoy my night off at the beach.

We are heading to LBI, Brant Beach on the 26th of this month. I am counting the days, looking forward to bicycle riding, walks on the beach, surf fishing, eating at Widas and the Brauhaus, visiting the lighthouse and shopping. Fall is the best time to visit. See you there!

Stationed here in Germany, I dearly miss my family in New Jersey, as well as the beach I left behind.  Only once, in my 20 years of Air Force service. have I been fortunate enough to live near the beach.  That was Pease AFB, NH.  New Hampshire's beaches are fine, all 20 miles of them.  Nothing, and I mean nothing beats the Jersey Shore.  And don't you forget it, Mister!

I grew up on Long Beach Island.  Now that I live in Devner, CO, I miss the summers on the beach.  I just want to say that this home page brings back many memories.

My dad had a vending business in the late sixties and many times he let his young teenage son off at Andy's Barnegat Light to fish.  I'm off far away now raising my family but with a recent trip back, images of sailboats and a home on the island sustain me to strive on.

We visit LBI every year but can only stay for two weeks.  Though we are sad when we have to leave we start counting down for the time we will spend with you next year.  LBI is everything good.  Good feelings, good memories, and good

we make a yearly trip to lbi and stay in a wonderful beach house in ship bottom.  as usual, this year we had a wonderful time...the weather was wonderful and the water was warm!  our favorite place to eat is ship bottom shellfish and our favorite attraction is old barney!!

next summer (99) i'd love to organize a saturday night film series at the arts and sciences foundation in loveladies.  I thought it would be a really cool, campy and community enhancing thing to do.  I am an independant film maker and I think people generally adore seeing all types of films, oldies, goodies,maybe a couple of beautiful foreign pics and newer wierd ones too.  Maybe you could help me get it together this year in time for the new season of 1999.

I've rented a house in Beach Haven for the past


three years, but in April of '98 I moved down here to New Zealand, and I REALLY miss LBI in the summer

My Grandparents have a house in Brant Beach.  I have been going up there for 9 years.  It is my most favorite place in the world.  My whole family goes up there all the time and my uncle is a singer that everyone knows and my aunt was a lifeguard.  It is the best place in the world!!!!

I was boating in the bay south of the causeway when

I haven't been to the island in a few years, but have wonderful memories of it and hope to get there soon again.  My family still owns a home there in Loveladies.  To me LBI is heaven on earth and the best place to be.

My family and I have been vacationing at LBI for many, many years.  Now that I have my own child, I hope to continue with the tradition.  I've been to many other beaches and none of them compare to LBI.  I like the fact that the beaches are not crowded, there is no boardwalk, and the selection of fine dining that is available.

LBI - It's the best!  Summer's are never the same unless we vacation on the island.  We've been vacationing there for over 20 years; it just gets better every year!  





Your website is excellent.  So much to view, and, the music is perfect.  Congratulations!

I've been coming to the Island since about age 11, and I must say I've noticed something this summer that's never seemed too bad before: trash and garbage on the streets and in the parking lots.  I don't know what this is due to, but it bothers me to see such a beautiful place ruined by garbage.  I'm worried that if nothing is done to stop the "messing up" of LBI, it will turn into a place that looks like Seaside Heights: trashy.  I witnessed teenagers hanging by the back of Pier 18 mall throw garbage onto the ground, but thankfully one older man told them to pick it up and have some respect.  I truly hope that LBI will get cleaned up so I can be proud to take friends and family members who've never been there and show them a clean, beautiful island, not one looking dirty.

Since I was a little kid I have been coming to LBI during the summers to visit my Aunt and Uncle and all of their children. Now I still come to LBI with my family.

Went to Barnegat Beach This past weekend and fell in love.  The beach is beautiful, not too crowded and the people seemed unpretentious and NOT "image" conscious like the Hamptons.  I want to go back next weekend and I'll be looking to rent a weekend share or something like that for next summer!!!  SSSSSSSHHHHHHHHHH let's keep this our magical secret!

Looking to rent a house on or near the beach in summer '99.  Visited Long Beach three years ago for the weekend and had a great time.  Not sure where the best place to stay for a family of four two teenage boys ages 16.  Would like to bring our dog if possible, but not necessary.

I have just returned from LBI. I have spent my 2 weeks summer vacation at Baech Haven for the the 10 years.  Before that I spent my 1 week vacation at Beach Haven.  I have vacationed on LBI for at least 23 of my 40 years.  Every year I say to my husband and children "do you want to do something different - go somewhere else?"  They say "no" - and I am so grateful because LBI has always been my first choice for vacation and always will be.  I appreciate all of the work that goes into keeping LBI a family oriented vacation respite!!!!  THANK YOU, THANK YOU, THANK YOU !!!!!!

Even though I just rent a house with my family each and every year I still and always will love LBI.  Especially my past homes at Surf City, The Dunes, Harvey Ceders, and Ship Bottom, I will surely remember all my life.

Your live beach.cam is a life saver! Being stranded in the midwest, I only get to LBI once a year for only a week. Since I found your beach cam I visit at least once a day. I hope you'll keep it on in the winter also.


Perhaps you could also offer program registrations through your site, such as for the LBI Arts Foundation kids programs, etc.
